Adobe makes a Saudi bet on AI creativity at scale
Adobe plans to give more than 27 million eligible Saudi citizens and residents aged 13 and over a year of free access to Firefly Standard and Express Premium, with enrollment rolling out through the end of 2026. The company values that free-access commitment at more than $4 billion—not as a cash investment, but as the retail value of the software being offered. The partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and HUMAIN also brings an upcoming image generator, HUMAIN Image 1, into Adobe’s tools; it is designed to produce Saudi-relevant visuals from Arabic prompts. Adobe will also move regional AI data-captioning work onto HUMAIN’s locally hosted computing platform, making it the first international software company announced to do so—a practical test of Saudi Arabia’s ambition to pair local AI infrastructure with mass-market software.
